Here’s a quick and easy way to research keywords among your competitors and increase your ranking in search engines.

Once on yours or your competitor’s site, click on View in the browser bar

Click on Source

Here you’ll see the keywords used on the site you’re looking at

Compare the keywords your competitor is using to the keywords you are using

Include keywords throughout your copy to ensure higher ranking in search engines.

This is a quick and easy way to improve your ranking.

Remember the more often you use the top keywords that your prospects will search for the higher your ranking.

For instance: If your business is a notary service you would want to use the word “notary” 6 or more times in your web copy. If you serve a particular geographic region make sure to include the name of the region (city, state, county, etc.) in your copy several times also.

What happened to the source code? The secondary window containing the source code may seem to disappear after you call it out, but it’s just moved behind your main window. You can access it by viewing your windows and selecting the far right pane on a Mac, or minimizing your main window on a PC.

Are you buying into lack mentality?

As a business owner this may look like, “There aren’t enough clients”, “I don’t have enough content for my program”, “The bottom line is thin this month.” In your personal life lack mentality may look like: “I can’t pay my bills”, or “All the good ones are taken”, or “There’s never enough time to get everything done.” We all buy into lack thinking at times, but that doesn’t mean you have to purchase and keep this mentality for the long haul. Here are some tips on how to change your lack thinking to abundant thinking.

When you have a lack thought write it down. Then next to it write down an abundant thought that you are able to easily replace the lack thought with. Keep this list going for several days to a week and notice any reoccurring thoughts. These are the foundational thoughts that you’ve carried with you for most of your life and it’s time to get rid of them.

When you think a thought that you don’t want, say out loud to yourself, “cancel cancel” then speak an abundant thought out loud. Look to your list for those abundant thoughts you’ve already identified for yourself.

Dedicate at least 15 minutes each day to visualizing yourself in abundance. Whether that’s bringing in new clients, networking, paying bills on time, or getting everything done in your day. Do this visualization every day for at least six weeks. This will retrain your brain to see things as you wish them to be, which leads you to take action that will bring your wishes into reality.

Surround yourself with abundant thinkers. Seek out people who are positive and who are where you want to be. Hang out with them as often as possible. Their positive, abundant thinking will rub off on you.

Read books or watch programs on abundance, positivity, personal growth. Filling your mind with abundant thoughts is an easy way to push out the thoughts on lack.

Lastly, keep a gratitude journal. Each night before you go to sleep write down what you are grateful for from your day. This helps you to take stock of all the abundance in your life.

If you practice at least two of the above exercises you’ll see a marked change in your thought habits. You’ll replace negative, lack thinking with positive, abundant thinking. Keep up the exercises for at least six weeks to really retrain your brain from lack to abundance. It’s like teaching a dog a new trick, it takes practice and dedication. You can do it!

Sometimes we get lost, off track, distracted when it comes to our business plans. When that happens the overwhelm, nervousness and self-doubt seem to creep in. Then it’s a downward spiral until something kicks in and get’s you back on track. There are three things you can do to nip things in the bud quickly so that you only deter for a moment or two and then are right back to working your biz plan.

Take a break and revisit your business mission: Are the services and products you’re working on still in alignment with your mission? Read through your mission and then look at your plans to make sure the alignment is still there. If everything is still in alignment just reading your mission will motivate you to get back on track. If things are out of alignment then it’s time to review and revise.

Review and revise: When the services and products you are offering are not in alignment with your mission you need to review both your mission and what you’re working on. Are you still in alignment with your mission or has your biz out grown or changed, hence outdating your mission? Do you need to revise your mission? If you do, great, most likely it will be an improved version of what your current mission is. If your mission is still on track then it’s time to review and revise the products and services your offering. What needs to change within them? What do you need to let go of and what do you need to bring in? It may be that just a few tweaks need to be made or it may be that an entire service or product needs to be thrown out so you can start again and be in alignment with your mission. Both situations happen to all of us. This may be a good time to look at outsourcing.

Outsourcing: If you find yourself in need of restructuring then consider outsourcing some of your other administrative work. What else are you pouring your energy and time into that someone else is able to do for you? By outsourcing to a VA or OBM you’ll free up your energy and time to focus on what’s most important. When we try to do it all, we can get lost because our focus is scattered all over the place. By outsourcing you bring your focus back in and relieve the self-induced pressure you’re feeling.

Your business plan is the foundation of your biz. Getting off track or even completely lost is not unusual. The thing that you want to happen is to get back on track or find your way again within a few hours or at most a day. Use the above three steps to help you get back to doing what you do best.

As business owners we have a lot on our plates. Not only do we have our businesses to run but we also have our families, friends, hobbies and life in general. With all that is on our plate’s life can become overwhelming at times. But, what if there was a way to eliminate or at least lessen the overwhelm? One way that I have found to eliminate the overwhelm is to set my intention for each and every day before I leave my bedroom in the morning.

By taking a few moments to write down your intention(s) for the day you are actually letting the Universe know how you want your day to go. Your intention could be that you want everything to go easy and smooth. Your intention may be that you want to get X number of things accomplished. Your intention may be that you want to have a harmonious day at work, with your spouse, with your children. Your intention for the day is anything that you want to happen on that day.

Now, here’s the really fun part. At the end of the day take a few minutes to re-read your intentions for that day. Then write down what you are grateful for in relation to your intentions. If your intention was to put out the best newsletter yet and you did, then express your gratitude for writing and sending it out. Was your intention to spend an hour with your children, and you did? Express your gratitude for the time you had with your children. Do you see how this works?

When you set your daily intention and then express your gratitude for what did occur during the day you are resetting your subconscious to believe and know that you control your life, that good things do happen, and more will come your way.

So, take the first step today and write down your intention then tonight write down what you are grateful for. Keep up with your intention and gratitude journaling (for lack of a better word) for at least 30 days. See what happens and come back and share your outcomes with me and everyone else on this site. Let’s create a community of intention!

The other day the phrase personal code of conduct popped into my head and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. From a young age we were taught morals and values, and there are 100′s if not 1,000′s of books written on them. But, what about personal code of conduct?

Let me start by explaining what I mean by personal code of conduct. Personal code of conduct is how you are in this world. It’s what you base the majority of your decisions making on. It’s who you choose to be around. It’s what you choose to do, your beliefs and your stories. We all have a personal code of conduct, however how often have you thought about it or drew upon it? Do you know what your personal code of conduct is?

To identify your personal code of conduct answer these 3 questions:

1) What will you not tolerate or what pisses you off?

2) What belief do you hold strongly to?

3) What advice do you find yourself giving out on a regular basis?

The answers to these 3 questions will tell you what your personal code of conduct is. Here is how I answered the above 3 questions. I will not tolerate wavering or indecision. I strongly hold on to the belief that we all create our own experiences (wanted or not) and that all will be okay. The advice that I often give out is to take 100% responsibility for your own life and everyone always has a choice. This is my personal code of conduct – how I live my life and who I am in this world.

Even though I’m calling this personal code of conduct it does relate directly to your biz or your career. Often times we let our personal code of conduct take a permanent vacation in our biz or career in order please others. How many times have you heard the phrase, “Don’t rock the boat?” When you’re told that all you are doing is expressing your personal code of conduct. When you don’t express it you’re short changing yourself, your clients, your boss, and your coworkers – in essence the world. Here’s the thing, you’ll feel it first and it will feel like something just isn’t right or that you’re not in alignment with who you are.

You see, your personal code of conduct is very important and it’s what you lead your life with. When things don’t feel good to you it’s because you’re out of alignment with your personal code of conduct. That’s when you can draw upon it, tap into it and let it steer you back on course.

Take a few moments now to get in touch with your personal code of conduct. Write it down if you so desire, and go forward expressing your personal code of conduct in all areas of your life.

The limbo is over. I’ve arrived in Colorado Springs. Here’s a picture of Pikes Peak in front of the house. It’s a little cloudy but I think you can see the mountain. Now, before I go off on a tangent about my new home I want get to the main point of today’s blog.

To get to the Springs I drove a 20′ truck with my SUV trailered behind for a total of about 35′. Not an endeavor most women want to take on by themselves. I wasn’t so sure about it myself but, as with the rest of my life, if I wanted to make the change and move to the Springs I had to do it. Some called me courageous, I called it determination.

On the two-and- a-half day drive I realized how strong and powerful a woman I am. When I was a teen I admired strong, powerful women and hoped to be one some day. To my delight and surprise I found that I am. Here’s the interesting piece on this, I’ve known this for some time but didn’t want to admit it because I thought that a lot of people found strong, powerful women unlikable/intimidating/we’ll call her when we need her. When really people admire and appreciate strong, powerful women. We’re the do’ers and the shaker. We’re the ones that blaze our own trail and keep on keeping-on even when things get rough. These attributes are so important in business.

We all have a strong, powerful side. Some of us need to bring it out more, stop hiding, and stop being afraid of what others will think. My new roommate is a strong, powerful woman and we’ve connected deeply in just the 24 hours we’ve known each other. So, strong, powerful women unite and make a real difference in the world through your business and how you live your life.

I’m sitting here at my laptop wondering what to blog about today. I feel like I’ve been living in limbo – somewhere between moving on with my life inColorado and staying inMichigan to help out my employer and coworkers. It’s such a tough place to be. All my things (except for the essentials and some clothes) are packed and stored in a trailer. I’m living out of a bedroom with a dorm frig and a bathroom (thank goodness for that!). It’s no wonder that I’m not able to think about what to blog about today.

When I’m not where I want to be, or in a place where I feel stifled my creativity is stifled also. How to turn this feeling around?

To help me turn it around today I’m working on a future project. This project is something that is teaching me a lot and that will help my peeps too. It will be exciting to offer it next month.

I’m also joining some Meetup.com groups in Colorado Springs. This way when I get there next week (yes, my move date is April 9th!) I’ll already be a part of some groups and have some meet ups to attend. This keeps me positive and motivated as I’ll be meeting new people very shortly.

What do you do when you feel stifled? How do you turn situations around to make the most of them? What motives you when you’re feeling uncreative? I’d really like to know, as we learn so much from each other. Share your insight and wisdom below. Thanks!

When you started your business did you have the nervous yet excited feeling in your gut? Did you just “know” that it was the right thing to do for you? Did your original ideas come easily? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions then you were following your intuition. Hooray for you!! Now my question is, do you still follow your intuition in your business or are you following your head instead? What’s the difference?

When you follow your head it usually sounds like “I should…” and “I could…” and things feel forced or worse yet difficult. You find yourself struggling to make things happen. The feelings that you experience are more from the left brain (analytical, structured, thought-out).

When you follow your intuition it usually sounds like “A-ha! That’s it” and “Why didn’t I think of that before?” and things flow easily and naturally. You have an excitement about bringing forth your creation or moving forward with your decision. These feelings are right brained (creative, free-flowing, adventuresome).

I always subscribe to following my intuition in my business because when it “feels” right it’s right! My intuition never lets me down. My intuition is my knowing that the direction I’m moving in is the right direction for me. Now, when it comes to making really big decisions (these are usually ones that have a hefty price tag attached to them) I do consult with my intuition first, then I think through the pros and cons, then I make my decision on what feels best for me and my business. The feels best part is my intuition, but now I consult it after having all the facts. This ensures that I’m not making decisions based on my emotions, but instead on my intuition.

My emotions may tell me that something could be fun or interesting but my intuition may tell me whether something is right or not. I know the difference between knowing when it’s right and when it’s not by the physical sensation I get in my gut. When it feels light and relaxed I know its right. When it feels tight and squeamish I know it’s not right.

Keep following your intuition in your business and it will lead you down the right path for you, your clients, and your partners.

When setting goals for your business or for your personal life there are 5 key elements that I want you to keep in mind.

Be specific: You want your goals to be specific enough that you can envision them in your mind. You want to be able to feel, touch, smell and emotionally attach to them. This will ensure that you will work toward and attain your goals.

Set priorities: For each goal you need to set priorities of what needs to be done in order to reach your goal. These are mid-level goals that feed into your overall goal. Four to five priorities is all you should have.

Chunk it down: Once you set your priorities chunk them down into small action items. Focus on these action items each week to move you toward successful attainment of your goal.

Identify what gets in your way: When you’ve set goals and not attained them in the past what got in your way? Identify these blocks and make a commitment to yourself to not let them interfere with your new goals.

Look at your plan: To help ensure successful attainment of your goals look at your goal and plan every day. What action item(s) do you need to work on each day? What priorities have you obtained? How close are you to your goal? Looking at your plan every day helps to keep it in front of you and to propel you forward.

By including these 5 key elements in your goal setting you will insure that you’ll reach, and maybe even surpass, your goals with less worry, less frustration, and more success.

Are you moving forward in your business, career or life like you want? Or is FEAR holding you back?

Fear is one of the biggest blocks the human race faces, and we face it on a daily basis. But what is fear? Where does it come from? I think that fear is our internal protection. The protection our minds “think” we need when something comes up that makes us uncomfortable, or when we’re about to embark on something new. Fear is our protector to keep us safe. However, that protection can also keep us from living the life we desire most, from building the business we dream of, from getting the promotion that we’ve always wanted.

If you recognize how you feel when fear comes up for you you’ll be better equipped to harness the fear and use it to propel you forward. For me fear feels like nervousness or overwhelm. When I’m fearful that something will not work out as planned I feel overwhelmed by everything that needs to be done. When I’m about to do something that I’m not totally comfortable with yet I get nervous when I’m about to do what it is I’m not totally comfortable with yet. That is when I harness the fear and turn it into positive energy that I then use to move me forward. Acknowledging and thanking the fear for being there is a great way to turn it into positive energy. It’s like talking to your parents and thanking them for voicing their opinion or for wanting to do something for you but you’re a big girl now and can handle it on your own.

Fear is a good emotion for us to experience. When needed it keeps us from harm. But, don’t let fear of the unknown, fear of the new, or fear of failure hold you back. If you do you’ll only regret it later and you’ll still be facing the same fear the next time something similar comes up for you. So harness the power of fear and move forward to create the business you dream of, the life you desire, or the career you’ve always wanted.
